Hi All,

I have a query about Polycom 650 with blind transfer feature

Steps :
1. Dial an extension from 650 (Polycom 650 phone)
2. Answer the call
3. Do a blind transfer to a busy phone (VM disabled) from 650 (Polycom
650 phone)

Here,
When the call fails generally four soft keys will be available with phone
1. Resum
2. New Call
3. Transfer
4. Conference

With all other phone models above soft keys are available EXCEPT Polycom 650
2. "New Call" soft key is not available with polycom 650.

Is there any setting to enable this softkey or this is an issue with
polycom 650 ?

Hi Akshata,

There actually is a setting to hide the New Call softkey when there is
"another way to place a call." But this is off by default, and we don't
even expose it for configuration in sipXconfig.

Sounds like this behaviour has somehow been activated in your 650. (All
your 650 and 670s, or just one?)

Double check your config files for the softkey.feature.newcall setting.
It should be in polycom_sip.cfg with a value of "1", and it should not
appear in any other of the phone's config files. If this is the case,
then raise a Polycom XTRN and assign it to me.

If you find softkey.feature.newcall="0" anywhere, then we have a
sipXconfig (Polycom plug-in) bug.

Hi Paul,

Thanks for the clarification.

I checked with *polycom_sip.cfg* file.
It got generated properly. The parameter softkey.feature.newcall is set
to "1" and it was not available with any other of the phone's config
files. But still the "New call" soft key was not available with phone.

This was happening only with my Polycom 650 phone.
So I deleted the registered phone and re-registered. Now the "New call"
soft key appears while transfer.

I think, as you said, setting to hide the New Call softkey when there is
"another way to place a call" somehow got activated with this particular
phone. After re-registration the phone is able to get "New call" soft
key while transfer.

Thanks for the help,
Akshata

Hi Akshata,

Only one phone, and not reproducible... OK, can you keep an eye on it?

Bump up the logging on this phone. Try Application, Configuration, and
Key Observer at "Moderate detail" and everything else at "Low detail".

Thanks.
